Bay Area Storylines pt. 1 - Disciples (preliminary results)

Yesterday was our first event, and I have to report it a great success. 10 players in total from all around the bay area.

Congratulations to Brandon Haas for winning the final round with the clock running out and saving him from certain defeat. The Old Guard were victorious in fending off the first wave of the invasion, but their loyalties are split within the faction and infighting places them in a dangerous position.

  1. After the fact, I realized that I sealed the tournament on my 2nd VP because I was the higher seed. I surely would have been ousted, especially after it took me five attempts with Dave already tapped out in order to take Turf War, which was a linchpin to many VPS and GWs. The Old Guard faction favor proved very useful, although timing was tricky. I never got to use my anti-ally tech, but it didn't bog me down too much. The number of skill cards and third traditions was just about right, but I needed to have a Barrens(not in this deck) or PB: Berkeley to drop them when I was trying to oust.

Thanks everyone for the stiff competition, see you next event!
